What does E-TEC mean?

Once confident the product would meet the demands of consumers, this new technology was re-launched as E-TEC Direct Injection Technology. Interestingly, the name E-TEC is not an acronym for anything. It's simply the name chosen for this revolutionary method of 2-stroke direct fuel injection.

    Is eTec fuel injected?

    The eTec's fuel system starts out quite similar to other motors on the market, including Optimax and 4-stroke product. The fuel is pulled from the tank by the pulse operated lift pump. It is then delivered to the VST or Vapor Separation Tank. The fuel is then injected into the cylinders at as much as 600psi.
