How often should you use ordinary peeling solution?

The Ordinary recommends using the Peeling Solution “no more than twice a week.” And even that may be too often if you've got fairly reactive skin. Learn from my mistake. If you, like me, are a queen of ignoring recommendations to patch-test new products, make an exception for this one. Use it only once a week to start.

How long should I use AHA BHA?

If your skin can take them, use them no more than once every 7/10 days. They remove way more dead cells than an acid toner or serum, so DON'T use them as often. Less is more with peels.

Can I use the ordinary AHA BHA twice a week?

You can use it twice per week for 10 minutes at most. We recommend starting with once per week if you're new to acids.

Should you use AHA everyday?

To reduce your risk of irritation, the Cleveland Clinic recommends using AHA products every other day. As your skin gets used to them, you can then start applying AHAs every day. Also use extra caution when going out in the sun.

How often should I exfoliate my face?

Many think that weekly exfoliation is enough, and it's a good starting point for a newbie. Most experts advise that you exfoliate two to three times per week — as long as your skin can handle it. Chemical exfoliants tend to be fine to use more regularly.

Should you moisturize after BHA?

You don't need to wait for the BHA or AHA to absorb or dry; you can apply any other product in your routine - moisturiser, serum, eye cream, or sunscreen - immediately afterwards. Exfoliating with AHA or BHA from the neck down has great benefits as well.

How long does AHA BHA purging last?

How long is the purge? Purging should only last for about a month, since that's the length of time it take for your skin to completely renew itself. If your skin isn't getting better after around 6-8 weeks with the new product, ditch it.

Can you use AHA and BHA in the same day?

Can you use both at the same time? Yes, you can use both AHA and BHA together, as long as they are coming from the same product. Products that have both AHA and BHA in their formula usually contain a balanced percentage that is generally safe for all skin types and with low risk of over exfoliation.

The effects of AHAs are primarily on the skin's surface, so they're good at combatting concerns like red marks from past acne and hyperpigmentation. BHAs are good for skin concerns like blackheads and whiteheads because BHAs penetrate deeper into the skin. While AHAs love water, BHAs love oil.
